Activities in Corsica

Between land, sea, and mountains, adventures for every traveler

Corsica is a life-size playground. Its spectacular landscapes, crystal-clear rivers, and wild coastlines offer a thousand ways to get away from it all. Hiking on the GR20 trails, swimming in mountain pools, via ferrata facing the sea, or horseback riding at sunset, each activity allows you to discover the island in a different way. Here, nature is as much to be experienced as it is to be admired.

Sublime hikes

Corsica is a vertical paradise for hikers. From the legendary GR20 to the more accessible trails of Bavella, Restonica, and Cap Corse, the island offers endless possibilities.
Each hike reveals a different side of the island: coastal paths between fragrant scrubland and turquoise coves, high-altitude trails leading to glacial lakes, and walks through centuries-old forests. From Casa La Madonna, there are numerous trails for exploring the eastern plain: walk among the pine forests of Pinia, or climb up to the foothills to enjoy panoramic views of the sea.

Canyoning & Kayaking

The Corsican gorges offer spectacular routes featuring jumps, natural slides, abseiling, and whitewater descents. Canyoning in Purcaraccia, near Bavella, is one of the most famous routes, with its emerald pools.
Kayaking offers a different way to explore the coastline and rivers. On the Tavignano or Fango rivers, you can paddle between spectacular gorges. At sea, around Scandola or the Calanques de Piana, kayaking gives you access to caves and coves that are inaccessible by land.

Via Ferrata, Climbing the Isle of Beauty

Corsican via ferrata routes offer accessible and spectacular adventures. These routes, equipped with cables and rungs, allow you to climb vertiginous rock faces in complete safety. The via ferrata in Chisa, the one in Tolla above a mountain lake, and the one in Solenzara facing the sea offer memorable experiences. Between vertical climbing, suspended walkways, and a final zip line, you'll discover the mountains from a unique perspective. The breathtaking views and the satisfaction of pushing your limits make via ferrata a fun and exhilarating activity.

Visit the hilltop villages

Sant'Antonino, Pigna and its artisans, Zonza facing the Bavella Peaks, Évisa in the heart of the chestnut trees, Nonza and its breathtaking view... These hilltop villages seem to defy time and gravity. Their cobbled streets climb in narrow stairways, their stone houses seem to have grown out of the rock, and their Baroque churches conceal unexpected treasures. You'll discover a shaded square with a hundred-year-old olive tree, a fountain that has been flowing for centuries, and a terrace offering views of the valley or the sea.

Diving & sea excursions

The Corsican seabed is among the clearest and richest in the Mediterranean. Visibility often reaches 30 meters and biodiversity is exceptional. Diving reveals Posidonia seagrass beds, curious groupers, silvery barracudas, hidden moray eels, and sometimes even dolphins. Wrecks, such as the B-17 off the coast of Calvi, add a historical dimension. Snorkeling in the sheltered coves offers a remarkable spectacle in itself. Boat trips to Scandola, the caves of Bonifacio, or the Lavezzi Islands allow you to discover sites that are inaccessible by land.

Corsican cuisine & local produce

The island has preserved a strong gastronomic identity, rooted in its terroirs and traditions. Mountain charcuterie tells the story of black pigs that grow up free in chestnut groves. Farmhouse cheeses are the result of a thousand years of pastoral expertise. Corsican wines reveal their full character: mineral whites from Patrimonio, powerful reds from Ajaccio, and sweet muscats from Cap Corse. Each region has its own specialties: brocciu fritters, melt-in-the-mouth fiadone, chestnut pulenda, cannelloni, wild boar stew, and more.
